Web Developer

Our client is looking for a full-time experienced developer to join its technical team at its offices in Shoreditch, London. Core requirements for the role include the ability to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of Python / Django as well as being at home with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. An understanding of deploying applications using Amazon Web Services is a bonus, as well as a keen interest in emerging technologies.

Working closely with Poke's Technical Director and other members of the tech team, you'll tackle challenges that involve informing creative visions and translating them into beautifully coded implementations that can handle high traffic volume and work on a range of front-end devices.
You will get to have a say in projects throughout their life-cycle, from early creative ideas, through to budgeting, technical planning and build.

Full details of the role:
Requirements:

An interest in full stack development
Expertise in Python and Django (2+ years)
Solid knowledge of HTML / CSS / JS that goes goes beyond jQuery. The candidate will need to demonstrate a familiarly with established JavaScript frameworks (Backbone.js, Ember, Angular.js)
Experience with version control systems (preferably git)
High performance web infrastructure using caching and CDNs
Unix/Linux sysadmin (install and configure Nginx, Apache, MySQL, write shell scripts, etc.)
Practical knowledge of OOP and design patterns
Familiarity with testing frameworks (primarily unit and load testing)

Other aspects:
Working as part of a friendly, collaborative team
Help to define and maintain internal processes and standards in collaboration with other members of the tech team
Assist in recruitment / interviewing for the tech team
Identify interesting new technology-related trends, techniques, tools, methodologies etc.
Help to scope and budget creative ideas in terms of build requirements

Bonus points for:
Creative agency experience
Hardware experience (C/Arduino/RaspberryPI)
Creative coding such as Processing or OpenFrameworks
Server provisioning (Chef, Puppet, Salt)


Salary circa £40k
